Our very own hackathon.......
As stated in the previous blog, I mentioned that I am responsible in creating and managing the back-end logic of the website with another teammate and there was a hackathon coming up and we were preparing for it! And it finally came! Our school had organized a hackathon just for this project and we spent 3 days working on this project and presented our work to the class and the judges. So the information below shows the parts that I have done and our overall product.
Day 1
In Day 1, I was working on the login page. I had set up a sample login and register form without any styling, and did the required validations. At the end of the day, both forms are working fine, and I managed to register a user and login!
Day 2
On Day 2 of the hackathon, I did the back-end work for the browsing page. The browsing page is for users to browse for products(games for now), and I displayed the necessary details of a game using dummy data(which explains why there are repetitive pictures and information). I also did a reviews page, meaning it will show all the relevant information for a specific product when I clicked on one of the products shown below.
Day 3
We combined the front-end and back-end code together. It was a mess, with many errors happening all over the place, but we managed to fix them just in time! See the differences in the pages when the styling is done!
Overall, I felt really satisfying when I looked at the website. The look and feel of the page is awesome, and the AI implemented is fantastic! Our team really did a great job in their own respective domain.
That's all for now. I will be taking a long break after the hackathon, thus it will be long when I update the blog. Thanks for reading!
