An idea emerges...... Can it become an reality?
My very first post.
Hi guys! Thanks for reading my blog. This is the first post regarding about our P1 project. As mentioned before, I am in charge of the research part of this project, while my teammate is doing the IT part (coding) of the project. Therefore, in this blog, most posts will be related to my progress of the research.
Introduction
So what is this project all about? In this project, we are implementing an automated
system in food court or canteen environment so that food ordering can be very convenient, fast, efficient, and most importantly, less troublesome. Therefore, for the research part of this project, I will be analyzing the significance of the problem in the normal food ordering system in food court, and the effectiveness of our solution based on the usefulness and popularity of our idea. I will also be researching on similar technology that is similar to our idea, finding out the pros and cons in their technology and compared it with our idea.
The whole process goes something like this......
Firstly, through an web application, customers can order their food through their phones or laptops and these orders are sent to the respective stall owners. The stall owners will accept the order and the customers will have to confirm their order. Once the order is confirmed and payment is made, the stall owners will start cooking and all the customers had to do is to wait and once the food is ready, a notification is sent to their phones and they can have their meal!
"We need a plan......"
To get the ball rolling, I have come up with my research timeline. The first step of the research timeline is to collected data based on the interviews of stall owners, which we have already done and the surveys, which is up online and still collecting. We will close all interviews and surveys on 21 December so that I can start analyzing the data and hopefully I can gain useful insights from them. In fact, the interviews that we have already conducted turned out to be very useful as we gain opinions from a different perspective and find out potential problems that we have yet to foresee, thus the interview sessions are very fruitful. I hope to gain more opinions from more perspectives when i review the surveys.
According to my research timeline, I need to complete analyzing the data on 28th December and work on my research paper. I planned to complete the research paper by 15th January so that the paper can be checked by my teacher and my teammate and make amendments based on the feedback provided by them. I hope I can stick to my plan.
